Our Mission
The Matty Eappen Foundation exists to
safeguard the lives of babies and toddlers. Shaken Baby Syndrome kills
or permanently injures hundreds of infants each year. Matty Eappen died
at the age of eight months. In Matty's memory, the foundation was
established to help prevent future tragedies. Our goal is to improve
the safety and welfare of children by educating the public about the
dangers of shaking a child. The most significant fact about Shaken Baby
Syndrome is that it is entirely preventable.
Never Shake A
Baby!
The Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Act of 2007 will make it possible to develop a national public health campaign that would inform the general public about the risks and dangers associated with SBS.
