Hi, I’m Denise and I am so excited and honored to be running the Boston Marathon for the Matty Eappen Foundation!! I am 54 years old, been married for over 31 years, a mother of 4 grown sons and have a beautiful, healthy granddaughter!! I work at Brigham & Women’s Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse and ran Boston in 2006 for Team Brigham. Last year I had the privilege of running and fundraising for Team Matty and I am grateful to have the honor of running for the Foundation again this year . After the tragic events of last year's Boston, I feel even more compelled to run strong this year - for Team Matty and for all those affected by the bombings at Boston!! For the past 7 years I have been a volunteer at the marathon on the medical team, packet stuffing and human chains at the starting line. I am an active member of the Merrimack Valley Striders and Trifury, and I am a parishioner at St. Williams Parish in Tewksbury. As a mother of 4 sons, I greatly admire the courage of Sunny and Debbie Eappen as they strive to educate and support families, caregivers and the public about preventing shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma. Please help me support this great foundation by donating to my Boston Marathon fundraiser.
